St.Matthew's is a very active and mixed congregation with a worshipping community of around 300 in total. We aim to be inclusive of all, irrespective of age, race, ability, gender, sexual orientation etc.
You'll be made very welcome if you wish to come along to our weekly worship at 11am or Messy Church on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
We seek to build our congregational life around our Kirk Session's agreed vision of being a church that is:
Growing - in our relationship with the Living God through acts of worship.
Knowing - in our understanding of each other through fellowship, and knowing God through education.
Going - in outreach to the wider community, locally, nationally and internationally.
Showing - our active care for others, socially and pastorally.
All of the above is rooted in God through our prayerfulness and our complete commitment to the lens through which we most acutely see God - the bible.
We are a Church who love God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and try our very best to live by the teachings and example of Jesus Christ.
We are an eco church who care for God's creation and a fairtrade church who care for God's people and have a traidcraft stall every Sunday.
We are also a pretty open-minded church who have even had our own ale brewed by a local distillery in recent times. This was inspired when our minister attended Beer & Hymns at Greenbelt Christian Arts Festival.
