CHILDREN & YOUTH
At St. Matthew's we are very family friendly. Indeed, when it comes to worship we expect children to behave like . . . well . . . children. All volunteer staff have been vetted by Disclosure Scotland and are highly committed in the work they are doing.
During Sunday 11am worship we have a creche for ages 0-3.
The third Sunday of every month hosts "Messy Church" in our main Hall for families who would find Sunday mornings either too early or too formal. Click here for more details.
We also have Junior Church for our primary school aged folks. A weekly programme is developing and we are planning how to put more hi-tech equipment (computers etc) into our methods of learning. There is already art, craft, and story telling in operation week after week and we have invested considerable finance to develop a safe, child-friendly educational play area (Noah's Place) just for the young ones who are so important to us! These facilities are developing all the time.
Noah's Place area is very exciting and every child who lays eyes upon it for the first time loves it imediately. We're certainly very proud at St. Matthew's to be making such an investment in our up and coming generation. Not only are they the future of our church, they are important members with us right now.
For now, it may be that some of our children will enjoy playing our online games! Just scroll to the foot of this page and enjoy!
Our Youth Group has a very vibrant programme - having all night sessions at the church after enjoying the pictures at Dundee! Weeks away on the isle of Iona are also enjoyed and we are planning allsorts of other events for the coming months! Our young folk lead in worship on a regular basis, host church family lunches and serve coffees and teas after Sunday worship alongwith other church members.
