The Congregation at St Matthew’s pride ourself on being Environmentally Aware.
We’ve held an Eco-Congregation Award since 2004, and have held our 2nd award since the end of 2010.

Everyone has a part to play in our Eco Congregation. Last year, a number of members of the congregation revitalised our garden. As you’ll see from the photos of “before” and “after”, we made quite a difference!
As an Eco Congregation, members of St Matthew’s are aware of the need to act as stewards of our world, each doing our best to care for it and not to squander its scarce resources. If you want a few ideas on how you can be more environmentally aware, go to
Please also note that you can recycle printer ink cartridges, plastic milk bottles, paper and drinks cans here on our facilities. Simply use the relevant bins at the side of the building in the car park or in the stair well inside the vestibule.
