THE HERITAGE OF ST. MATTHEW'S CHURCH
Constructed in 1871, St. Matthew's Church of Scotland is a very interesting place to be for anyone who has an interest in architecture, stained glass, history, war memorabilia and more. From our story rooted in Scotch Whisky, to or windows from other churches, to our WW1 Black Watch Colours, the historic preacher on our opening night or the sheer beauty of our stunning 212 ft architectural structure, a visit to Perth's iconic, landmark church is a definite attraction.
We are delighted to have received £250,000 of funding from The Heritage Lottery Fund to help us sustain this important piece of Scottish Heritage. Our thanks go to them for their faith in our congregation in opening our past to the future!
We now aim to proudly show off our fabulous new facilities in ways that help our local, regional, national and international visitors learn all about the story of the people of this sacred space through our 145 year history.
Guided historic tours take place from April to September each year with our coffee shop and gift shop open for visitor use.
