St. Matthew's Church of Scotland, Perth - Growing, Knowing, Going & Showing, in God
The Rev Scott Burton was inducted into St. Matthews in January 2007 after a seven year ministry in Kelty, West Fife. Originally from Glasgow, he studied at the universities of St. Andrews and Aberdeen and has ministered as a student in cities and towns and villages, as well as on islands as far flung and remote as Foula in Shetland.

Scott has enjoyed the dynamic learning experiences of three international pulpit exchanges in recent years: firstly in Marion Presbyterian Church, South Carolina (2005) then in Encino Presbyterian Church, Los Angeles, California (2007) and in Fernandina Beach Presbyterian Church in Florida (2009).
Scott also plays trumpet, guitar and Flugel Horn, ran the Edinburgh Marathon in 2004 and enjoys cycling, white-water kayaking, walking his Weimaraner dog and spending as much time as possible reading such books as The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. He has been married to Jill since 1993 and has two daughters.

Scott also now has his first book published by Astwood Publishers
It's called Holy Whitewater and is a collection of his reflections on the spirituality of Whitewater Kayaking.  For a little insight on this exciting project, why not check out some of the following wee videos that Scott made for a national initiative called Sanctuary First.   To buy the book, pop into the church, Wetherspoons, The Orchid Cafe or the Manna House bookshop.  Alternatively, buy direct from www.holywhitewater.com where you can view a few more videos and read a free sample chapter.
